Welcome to St. James!
Community Membership Process
We are looking forward to getting to know you and pray that you feel at home at St. James. Our membership process is set up so that we can get to know each other a little better. It is a four step process.
- “I like this church!” Complete a communication card after Mass or use the Contact Us form to introduce yourself and begin the connection process.
- “I want to learn more.” Contact Father Mayer so that he can arrange to meet with you, normally in your home, or another place if needed.
- “I want to connect with the community.” Attend a welcome event to connect with others and learn about the history and vision of St. James and what it means to be a member of the community. Upcoming welcome events are scheduled for January 15, 2023, April 16, 2023 and August 20, 2023. Contact Us to be added to the invitation list and to receive more details about the next welcome event.
- “Let’s make it official.” Print and complete the formal registration.
If you skipped any of these steps, we are happy to help you get caught up and fully integrate into the St. James community.
How May I Join the Ordinariate?
Members of the Ordinariate are Roman Catholics who have come from Anglican and other ecclesial communities and are now in the full communion of the Church, Catholics who have completed their Sacraments of Initiation (or whose family member has completed the Sacraments of Initiation) in one of our Parishes or Communities, or those who have been drawn to the Church through the evangelizing mission of our Diocese, and their families.
No one is automatically a member of the Ordinariate, those eligible for membership must submit a completed and signed Membership Registration Form to Father Mayer. Your signature on the form is the canonical act by which you manifest your desire to enter the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
Most people who desire to join the Ordinariate do so through the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation. If you are currently worshiping at St. James and or are preparing to be received into the Church please contact Father Mayer so that he can notify the Chancery and submit proof of your Sacraments for your membership to be complete.
